Scandinavia 2010 - Part 3

Malmö

Tuesday - August 31st 2010

Today we had planned to go to Malmö, since it was just across the Öresund, the strait that devides Denmark and Sweden. Malmö and Copenhagen are connected by the Öresund Bridge and the train takes only 25 minutes from Copenhagen Main Station to Malmö Main Station.

After a cup of coffee we were on our way and soon we arrived in Malmö. First we just walked around the city and enjoyed the sunny weather. The town offered an American Store and we were eager to buy some US products there. Unfortunately the shop was a little bit disappointing, since it didn't offer a lot. Most of the things were available at home as well and so we only got some snacks.

For lunch we went to a vegetarian Chinese buffet restaurant called Vegegarden. The buffet had a big selection of different noodles, spring rolls, vegetables and the food was really, really good. Afterwards we walked to the harbour where we had a cup of coffee while watching the ships. Later we strolled around the city until we found a wonderful small bar, the Basement Cafe, in the old part of the town. We got a table outside and ordered two beers. It was so relaxing just sitting there in the warm summer weather.

Then we visited a nearby park until we returned to the inner city. Since it was already evening, we went to a restaurant to have dinner. Before we took the train back to Copenhagen, we did some shopping and bought souvenirs.

Back in Copenhagen, we went to the Hard Rock Cafe for one last drink and then we returned to our hotel and packed our stuff.
