Mallorca 2024 - Part 1

Flying To Mallorca

Saturday - September 14th 2024

It was finally time for another vacation. This time we flew to the Balearic Island of Mallorca in the Mediterranean Sea. Our flight to Spain departed from Salzburg around noon and so we arrived in the late morning at the airport to have plenty of time for a couple of drinks. Flight time was about two hours and once we were airborne, we ate our snacks and got a beer. In the afternoon our Eurowings flight landed in Palma de Mallorca. At the airport we were picked up by a bus from our tour operator and were transported to our hotel.

Claudia and I stayed at the adults only hotel Inturotel Cala Esmeralda in Cala D'Or on the south east coast of Mallorca. While checking in we were provided with a glass of champagne and then we were brought to our room, which was very nice and beautiful. Once we unpacked our luggage we headed down to the beach club to jump into the water. Since we still had plenty of time until dinner, we spent the rest of the afternoon sun bathing. Later we checked out the rest of the hotel and got ready for dinner. The buffet style dinner was pretty good and we always found enough vegetarian options. Afterwards we walked into the village of Cala D'Or to do some shopping and to get some drinks. We found a wonderful outdoor bar called Atlantis and ordered Sangria to celebrate our vacation time. Back at the hotel we had a glass of beer on our balcony before calling it a day and falling asleep.

Mallorca 2024 - Part 2

Relaxing Day

Sunday - September 15th 2024

Our first full day started with breakfast. Like dinner, breakfast was also buffet style with a huge selection of cold and warm food. For today we hadn't planned anything except for relaxing at the beach club. After breakfast we got ready for our day at the beach and headed down to the beach club. The weather was perfect for swimming and sun bathing. Before we went to the supermarket to get some snacks, we had drinks at the beach bar. For lunch we bought rolls and hummus and enjoyed a small picnic by the pool.

In the late afternoon we returned to the hotel and wanted to book a rental car at the reception. Since there were so many options we got drinks at the hotel bar while finding the best and cheapest car for us. Then we got ready for another amazing dinner. Afterwards we took a walk into Cala D'Or and browsed through the shops before heading to the Atlantis Bar again, where we ended the day Spanish style with Sangrias.

Mallorca 2024 - Part 3

Another Relaxing Day

Monday - September 16th 2024

Today we slept in, because the beach club didn't open before 10:00am, and then it was time for breakfast. Afterwards it was time for another relaxing day at the beach. Once we found a good spot for our sun lounges, we went swimming. Like yesterday we had drinks at the beach bar before we walked to the supermarket to buy lunch. Of course we got baguettes and hummus again. The rest of the day we spent with sun bathing, reading and swimming.

In the late afternoon we returned to the hotel, got ready for the evening and then we had dinner. Every day there was a different theme, like Italian, Spanish or even vegetarian, and today was all about Spanish food. Unfortunately the vegetarian options were a little bit disappointing, but we still found something. Later we walked into the village and Claudia enjoyed spending money in all the different stores. Of course we stopped at a bar as well and had Sangrias, but today we tried Lola's Bar. Later we just strolled around the village before we walked back to the hotel and called it a day.
