This weekend the weather was really nice and so we decided to do a bike tour to the famous Könnigssee in Bavaria just a couple of kilometres away from Salzburg. We started in the morning and around noon we arrived at the totally over crowded village of Schönau am Königssee. Along the way we stopped at a lovely restaurant for a refreshing glass of beer. Since Schönau was unbearable with all the tourists, we cycled back to Salzburg. Of course we had to get a beer on they way home too. Back in Salzburg we eneded our bike tour with frozen yogurt.

Bad Aussee 2024 - Part 1

Die Wasnerin

Friday - July 12th 2024

In 2022 we spent already a couple of day at Die Wasnerin in Bad Aussee and since we had such a great time back then, we wanted to return. This year we finally made it happen and returned for a weekend getaway. So Friday after work we drove to Bad Aussee and upon arrival we were greeted with a glass of champagne while waiting for our room. Once we dropped off our luggage we headed directly to the indoor spa area, because it started to rain heavily, to spend the afternoon relaxing by the pool and enjoying the sauna.

In the late afternoon it stopped raining and the sun came out again, but we had to get ready for the evening and left the spa. On the way to the restaurant, we stopped at the hotel bar for an aperitif. After a glass of beer and chanpagne it was time for dinner. We got to chose from several vegetarian options and in the end we ordered cheese panna cotta and falafel for starters and the tomato basil sorbet for appetizer. For the main course Claudia got a vegetable cake with mashed potatoes and I had cheese spätzle. The food was delicious and of course we had to get dessert as well. The rest of the evening we spent relaxing in front of the TV in our room.

After we got up, it was time for the huge breakfast buffet, definitely one of the many highlights of this amazing hotel. For today we hadn't had any plans except for relaxing at the pool. Around noon we had a second breakfast and in the afternoon we got a couple of drinks at the pool bar.

In the evening we had another fantastic dinner. Today we started with grilled watermelon and salad followed by an amazing chanterelle soup. Claudia had a risotto for the main course, while I ordered the vegetable patties. Afterwards we enjoyed a couple of drinks at the hotel bar until we returned to our room.

Bad Aussee 2024 - Part 3

Sunday - July 14th 2024

Today was already our last day. Once we got up, we packed our stuff and then we had breakfast outside on the terrace. We had to check out at noon, but we still could use the hotel pool and the spa area for the whole day. So we spent the day at the pool until we had to drive back home. We also got a second breakfast and drinks at the pool bar. After another relaxing day it was time to say good bye until our next visit.
