Schladming
Sunday - March 12th 2023
Our second ski trip this year took us to
Schladming in Styria, best known
for the famous Night Race. Schladming is about an hour from Salzburg by car
and so Sunday early morning we hit the road. Once we arrived we bought our
skipass and locker for the next three days. Then we took the cable car on top
of Planai Mountain. The weather wasn't that great, but at least it didn't
snow. To our surprise the slopes were in a really good condition and since it
snowed during the night the whole area looked like a winter wonderland. Later
we stopped at a nice looking bar to get a couple of drinks to celebrate my
birthday before heading to the next ski lodge for lunch.

In the afternoon we checked out other areas of the ski resort and then we
called it a day, since we still had to check in at our hotel. In Schladming
we stayed at the
Falkensteiner Hotel, a modern and fancy hotel. Check in was quick and easy and soon we
unpacked our luggage in our beautiful room. Afterwards we headed down to the
bar to have some drinks before getting ready for dinner. Claudia and I both
had a salad for starter followed by an Asian Pasta dish, which was really
good. For dessert the staff surprised us with a cake, since today was my
birthday. Being really tired we went back to the room and watched TV until
we fell asleep.
